When I read this chapter, I thought that the bishop was going to get mean at the Senator, but surprisingly, he didn't. Actually, now that I think about it, it's not too surprising considering how much of a patient and understanding guy the bishop is. The senator was talking about how he doesn't believe in God or an afterlife but it seemed to me as if he was almost mocking or making fun of God's existence. If I were the bishop and someone was making fun of my religion, I would tell them to shut up honestly. But I like how the bishop kept things professional.

Telling stories and inventing symbols can empower people to come together because there are many people who will agree or like the stories or symbols you're sharing. Take political opinions for example, if there are lots of people who share the same opinion when it comes to politics, they'll get together and be around each other

The bishop lives in a small house that doesn't have much decoration but he thinks it's enough. This tells me that he's a humble man that doesn't need a big house, he's perfectly fine with a small house. The house was old because he wanted to preserve it for as long as he could. He also kept no locks on his doors so that anyone could come into his house if they were in need of help. I find it amazing that he did this without being scared of any criminals breaking into his house. That shows that he puts others and their well-being before his own safety.
