The bishop's brothers were introduced in this chapter and it felt like we were getting to know a little more about the bishop's personal life. What I noticed while reading is that the bishop described the prefect in a way that sounded *better* than the way he described the general. This is leading me to believe that he likes the prefect more than the general.

les mis book 2 chapter 1

We found out that the main character of the story isn't actually the bishop, but is actually Jean Valjean. This was a big surprise to me because this whole time we've been reading about the bishop and his life, just to find out that he isn't even the main character. Jean Valjean was a former inmate who was freed and was allowed to enter society again. He's been hoping to find someone who can help him. I hope that he is able to find someone when we continue reading.
