a word about the misérables

As long as it's a thing, by the goodness of rules and practice, cursed commands made by society, creating unnecessary hells among the civilizations of the world, combining human fortune to divine fortune; as long as the three biggest problems of our generation - the humiliation of men through poverty, the dishonesty about women through hunger, the ruining of children through sadness - is still happening; as long as social suffocation is possible anywhere; - that is, and with still a big importance, as long as there are still homeless living on the streets and uneducated people on this Earth, novels like Les Misérables can still be useful.

les mis part 1 summary

     What we've read so far in Les Mis is a lot about the bishop and the life that he chose to live. In the beginning, he had anything he could ever ask for. Then, sadly, he lost it all. He even lost his wife. After this sad ordeal happened to the him, he decided to move to Italy and start a new life. Here, he became a bishop in the Catholic church. He changed his ways of living and turned into this new person who was kind, caring, giving, selfless, and humble.      The bishop did many kind and thoughtful things for people, some who may not have even deserved it. The bishop became a man who wasn't materialistic, and was humble. He did kind acts like giving almost all of his money to the poor and needy. He let people who didn't have a place to go sleep in his house. He didn't even keep a lock on his front door so that it allowed anyone to come in and seek shelter if they needed to. how we read

Reading is supposed to be fun, but sometimes reading for school is a challenge. Here are four ways we can have more fun reading and do it better at the same time.  First, you need to find a book you love or at least like. By finding a book you like, it'll make the experience of reading more enjoyable for you. And instead of looking at reading as a "chore", you'll find it as more of a hobby or something fun to do. Second, if there is a book you don't like or find boring, there are many people out there who find that book interesting. I suggest you find out why others find that book interesting, this way, it might change your perspective on it. Who knows, you might view it from a different point of view and you might like it!  Third, you need to think about how YOU define the word "read". Is it a good thing to you? An annoying thing? Something you just don't care for? How do you define it? You should start looking at it as more than just words on page....
